Graham Mertz sees first Badgers action in win over CMU

Wisconsin freshman quarterback Graham Mertz made his debut in the second half of the Badgers' 61-0 thrashing of Central Michigan, completing his first pass for 19 yards to convert a 3rd and 13. Mertz spoke to the Badger Sports Network after the game.

Mertz finished four of five passing for 35 yards in his first game action as a Wisconsin Badger.

Mertz indicated he will likely redshirt this year, although nothing has been formally announced by the Wisconsin athletic department. Players can play in up to four games and still be eligible for a redshirt season.

Jack Coan is firmly entrenched as the starter after a record-setting performance in the win over CMU, while Chase Wolf has now played in two games for the Badgers this year.
