Voice of the Wisconsin Badgers Matt Lepay joined the Steve Czaban Show Friday to talk about the Badgers quest to win the Paul Bunyan Axe back from the rival Minnesota Golden Gophers. Many Badger fans might not be aware that the teams played for the Slab of Bacon prior to playing for Paul Bunyan's Axe. However after the Badgers won the Slab of Bacon in 1943, the trophy mysteriously disappeared. The Paul Bunyan became the trophy for the rivalry in 1948 and overall the series between Wisconsin and Minnesota is tied at 60-60-8 in the 128 times the teams have met.
