About Bob Brainerd

Spin the sports media wheel and you will no doubt land on something Bob Brainerd has done during his three-decade plus career.

After his 9-year run presenting the local sports scene in Eau Claire on WEAU-TV, Bob ventured home to Milwaukee where the running joke is that he holds the record for most TV station golf shirts accumulated…show me anyone else who has worked at all four stations in the market? (Is that a good thing?).

The journey continued with the creation and management of the high school sports show, Preps Plus, followed by sideline and pregame reporting duties for the Brewers and Bucks on Fox Sports Wisconsin.

There’s more? Certainly. You might want to have a seat…

Mix in play-by-play duties at Time Warner Cable SportsChannel/Spectrum Sports during the 2000’s, yapping over the action of Wisconsin professional, college and high school events.

And if you’ve attended local events like a Marquette basketball game, Bucks game or UW-Milwaukee basketball game and thought, “that voice doing the public address sounds familiar”…that’s Bob too. And he has spent the last year as the pinch hitter off the iHeart bench, subbing for various programs on The Big 920…he thinks he’s the Rob Picciolo of the station.
