Who has the edge in the battle for backup Packers QB?

DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle didn't turn the ball over in Thursday's preseason opener, a big factor in the Packers' 28-26 win over the Houston Texans. Here's a look at the battle of backup quarterbacks in Green Bay.

Zachary Jacobson of Cheesehead TV believes that it's anyone's game right now, but based on experience, Kizer has the edge:

You could easily make the argument that Boyle moved ahead of Kizer Thursday night, but as of right now, I'd feel comfortable still keeping Kizer as the primary backup -- at the moment. If Boyle continues to ascend and build off of what was an already impressive preseason campaign a year ago, it shouldn't take much to dethrone Kizer.

Jacobson also highlights some of the other players making an impact on Thursday, such as running back Dexter Williams and linebacker Ty Summers. You can read his full breakdown of the quarterback battle as well as some notes on each of those players at Cheesehead TV by clicking here.
