On what ended up being a ho-hum Sunday of action in the NFL, the biggest news came out of Green Bay, where the Packers lost at home to the lowly Arizona Cardinals and fired coach Mike McCarthy shortly after the game.
While the result of McCarthy being let go isn't all that surprising, the timing of the decision did catch some analysts off-guard, and elicited responses from every corner of the media on Sunday as the news played out in real-time.
Now, Green Bay will try to find a coach that can navigate a short rebuild around an aging franchise quarterback, with a demanding front office and fan base following along every step of the way.
