After a loss earlier this week to Creighton, Marquette bounced back in a big way with a win on Saturday.
A big first half and 51 combined points from Markus Howard and Koby McEwen led Marquette to the upset of #10 Villanova.
Howard scored 29 to lead the Golden Eagles, while McEwen added 22. Theo John added six points and 10 rebounds for Marquette.
A 46-point first half gave Marquette a 17-point lead going into the locker room, and the Golden Eagles weathered the storm in the second half, taking an 11-point home victory.
Marquette will play Providence at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night.
