Markus Howard drops 53 as Marquette beats Creighton 106-104 in OT

Markus Howard had a record-setting performance, scoring 14 of his 53 points in overtime to give Marquette a wild 106-104 overtime win at Creighton on Wednesday night.

The 53 points were the most ever scored by a Creighton opponent, and were the most points ever scored in a Big East game, breaking his own prior record.

Sam Hauser of Marquette hit a buzzer-beating three to send the game to overtime, which was reviewed but ultimately upheld.

Both Sam and Joey Hauser finished with 13 points, the only other Golden Eagles to reach double figures.

Creighton got five players into double figures, led by Ty-Shon Alexander with 23.

Marquette will host Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon at Fiserv Forum. Creighton visits Milwaukee on March 3.
