Mike Heller discusses the reaction to Quintez Cephus' not guilty verdict, what it means for the former Badgers receiver as far as what comes next, and how it plays out in the business of college football.
On Friday, a jury found Cephus not guilty of second and third degree sexual assault. After a week long trial, the jury came to its decision after deliberating for 41 minutes.
What comes next for Cephus is uncertain, but it doesn't appear likely that he'll return to the Wisconsin Badgers program or the University of Wisconsin. In strictly terms of what it means in college football, the Badgers have long adjusted to Cephus no longer being on the roster, and that means it'll be a clean slate for the former receiver should he pursue his academic (and football) career elsewhere.
