It wasn't easy, but the Brewers defeated Los Angeles, 6-5, in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series Friday night at Miller Park.

The Brewers lead the best-of-seven series, 1-0. Game 2 is slated for 3 p.m. Saturday.

Brandon Woodruff, one of the least likely home run hero candidates in playoff history, belted a solo shot off Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw to open the scoring for Milwaukee.
