Bucks trade Thon Maker to Pistons for Stanley Johnson

On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks reportedly agreed to trade Thon Maker to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Stanley Johnson, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Maker requested a trade in January , citing a lack of playing time. The request apparently banished him to the bench, as he exited the rotation in recent games.

Johnson, 22, is in his fourth season after being drafted by the Pistons with the 8th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Johnson was a one-and-done player in college at Arizona. In the NBA, Johnson has shot 29% from three over his career while averaging 7.1 points per game . After starting 50 games in 2017-18, he's only started seven times in 48 games this season, averaging about 20 minutes per outing.

Wojnarowski described the trade as ' an ideal change of scenery deal ' for both players, as Maker will now have an opportunity to earn minutes with a team that won't contend this season while Johnson will try to find a role with the Bucks, holders of the NBA's best record.
