5 former Brewers elect free agency as roster makeover continues

Jimmy Nelson, Junior Guerra, Alex Claudio, Travis Shaw, and Tyler Saladino elected free agency as non-tendered players on Monday, part of several roster notes as the makeover of the Brewers roster continues this offseason.

Milwaukee also signed Orlando Arcia and Ben Gamel to one-year contracts, avoiding arbitration. Josh Hader, Corey Knebel, and Brent Suter were also tendered contracts on Monday.

Earlier this offseason, the Brewers traded Zach Davies and Trent Grisham for Luis Urias and Eric Lauer, and also allowed Eric Thames to leave in free agency.

Also, two of last year's mainstays are in new locations. Catcher Yasmani Grandal is now playing for the Chicago White Sox, and infielder Mike Moustakas recently signed with the Cincinnati Reds.
