Brewers trade Chase Anderson to Blue Jays

Pitcher Chase Anderson was dealt Monday by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Toronto Blue Jays for first baseman Chad Spanberger, who played in Double-A last year.

Anderson, who turns 32 later this month, pitched four years in Milwaukee, going 38-27 with a 3.8 ERA and 505 strikeouts over 590 innings pitched.

Spanberger, who just turned 24, had an OPS of .707 last year at Double-A New Hampshire, hitting 13 home runs in 480 plate appearances.

According to Robert Murray of The Athletic, the Brewers were going to decline Anderson's 2020 option on Monday, prompting the move.
