Prince's Case is Closed

Tomorrow is the second anniversary of PRINCE's death, and there are a couple new updates . . .

1.  For starters, Prince's estate has released his original version of "Nothing Compares 2 U".  He wrote it in 1984 for his side project The Family, even though Sinead O'Connor recorded the definitive version in 1990.

The original studio version is different than the recording by The Family.  It was released with "previously unseen rehearsal footage" of Price & the Revolution from the summer of 1984.  (Check out the original here, or stream it, here.)

2.  Also yesterday, the prosecutor investigating Prince's death said that no criminal charges will be filed, which means the local case is closed.

Prosecutors believe Prince's doctor wrote a prescription for oxycodone under the name of Prince's bodyguard, even though it was intended for Prince.  But they don't know how he got his hands on FENTANYL . . . which is what killed him.

They say the evidence shows Prince thought he was taking Vicodin, not fentanyl.  And they couldn't find any proof that anyone else knew he had fentanyl . . . or that it was ever prescribed to him by a doctor.

 (Here's video of the announcement.)
