The Reason Adidas Is Apologizing To You

Hey look everyone, a giant corporation just did something ridiculous again.

Adidas sent out a marketing email to its customers yesterday with the subject, quote, "Congrats, you survived the Boston Marathon!"

Maybe they forgot what happened just four years ago, when three people DIDN'T survive the Boston Marathon . . . because they were killed in the terrorist bombing?

And then, Adidas made things worse in the body of the email by using the "Boston Strong" phrase that was created in the aftermath of that bombing.  Quote, "You're Boston Strong, what's next?"

People INSTANTLY started criticizing them on social media, and they quickly emailed out an apology.  Quote, "We are incredibly sorry.  Clearly, there was no thought given to the insensitive email subject line."
